We developed the Perfmatters plugin with simplicity in mind. We use all these optimizations on our own sites and are excited to now provide you with an easy way to have them! No fiddling with code or your function.php file. Performance optimizations don’t have to be complicated and so everything can be enabled/disabled with a single click.

The main way this plugin helps speed up your site is by disabling scripts that are not used on your site. For example, by default, emojis are loaded on every page of your site. If you don’t use them, this is just slowing it down. When disabled, the script is no longer loaded, thus reducing your total number of HTTP requests and page size.

Another useful feature is our database optimization. Over time, things like revisions, automatic drafts, spam comments and temporary events start to fill up your database and affect your site’s performance without you even realizing it. With Perfmatters, you can easily clean it all up and even set limits to prevent it from happening again. This ensures a quick and fast database.
